Summa Communications is a part of Enreach, which provides the most stable and innovative communication platform for the commercial market. Through our own network (with the support of several interconnected data centers) we supply professional mobile, telephony and data services using progressive ICT techniques. As a result of our flexible and professional approach, we have gained a significant market position that we intend to further expand in the coming years through the indirect sales channel.You will work in a dynamic organization where every day is a different story. In 2017 we chose to run our organization according to the management model of Holacracy. This model is characterized by that we do not work with traditional functions but in several roles. Departments are no longer there because we work in circles. And from your roles, you can be part of several of these circles. This way you will be able to use your talents in multiple places!
To reinforce our team in Málaga (Spain), we are currently recruiting a:
Systems Engineer!
As a member of the Technical Operations team, your primary task is to maintain our high standard server-domain which services –amongst others- our Voice platforms and our Voiceworks applications. You will plan their capacity, and make sure they are up to date. Of course, you will judge and process requests of your (internal) customers making sure the Voiceworks operations run smoothly.
Other tasks may include:
-Providing input and brainstorming about the design of new services and products for both internal clients and external
-Documenting the system-architecture in a transparent and clear way
-Announcing scheduled maintenance in a timely manner and solving incidents. Of course, you’ll manage to administrate incidents at- and adjustments to the several systems.
-You will be responsible to periodically test failover measures and keep a check on the availability of the Voiceworks’ and Xenosite systems. Naturally, you’ll also make sure that knowledge and continuity are ensured.
Job requirements:
-A relevant BA/university degree
-At least 2 years experience in a comparable position
-In-depth knowledge of Linux
-Proven track record in the telecommunications / IT industry
-Experienced in working with open-source software
-Familiarity in working with complex and interwoven systems
-Familiarity in VMware vSphere
-You have knowledge of server hardware. Experience with Dell hardware is considered a plus
-You know like no other how to maintain and configure Open Source software (for example Apache, Postfix, Mysql, PostgreSQL, Heartbeat, Ceph, Zabbix, Iptables, etc.)
-Configuration management tools hold no secrets to you. (Puppet and Ansible is also considered a plus)
-You have knowledge of network protocols and functions, like IPv4, IPv6, routing, switching, VLANs, etc.
-You try to solve every problem by building and reusing ingenious though possibly a bit dirty bash scripts. If you are also proficient in PHP, then you’ll definitely feel right at home!
-The scripting language is amongst one of your USP’s. Bash would be a must-have, PHP a nice-to-have
-You are able to design (isp) server systems
-Open to learn and work on Kubernetes, experience with containers is a nice-to-have
-Analytical thinker
